Losing Weight vs. Gaining Happiness

An active mind cannot exist in an inactive body―General George S. Patton

running I wanted to share with you a very well written blog (and a great website as well!). In this blog by Daniel Chidiac he really gets at the heart of the real health and happiness: Your body should be loved for the highly technical machine it is. It deserves respect for housing the only thing that is ever permanent: your soul.

Thanks Daniel for an excellent blog! Such a good reminder that we should be searching to feel good, not weigh less.

Welcome to Happy Yogis!

Posted by on Mar 3, 2011 | Comments Off

And welcome to a blog full of yoga, fitness, and general well-being and happiness. I’m kicking this off after a super crazy, chaotically beautiful two months. In December, long-term boyfriend, Garret, and I (7 years together!) were renting a cottage in Marin (our favorite place in the world!) We moved here after living in several other amazing states (Colorado, PA) for the boyfriends job and, not unexpectedly, decided to stay kaput. Sooo, January came around and we decided to get hitched. We had a mega-fun wedding at city hall with my sis and her boyfriend (check out our wedding song by the Avett brothers!), went on a much-needed trip to Aruba and then….we bought a house. And its our dream home, I might add.

Now that we have a place to post-up in Marin, our lives here are official. There is so much to be thankful for in Marin (especially when there are snowstorms threatening the rest of the country!) and there is so much to be happy about in our lives. And if you need help finding something happy to talk about, I’d love to have a chat (been there!) Otherwise, you can read my blog where I will talk to you about yoga and mental/physical well being (they are VERY related). If you need something extra, I would be happy to teach yoga classes privately in my home or yours, or at your office if you need some ahhhh time.

Talk to you soon.
